BANDIT 65 is a mesmerizing post-jazz sonic trio of breathtaking virtuosity, great power, boundless breadth, and astounding beauty. Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tim Motzer, and Gintas Janusonis explore the intersection of guitars, rhythms, electronics, soundscapes, experimentalism, psych-rock, free improvisation, and telepathic interplay. Bandit 65 explores a wide open canvas, searching and pushing the envelope live and discovering captivating mind-blowing multidimensional landscapes of sound in their improvisations. Their debut album, Bandit 65, was mixed by Tyler McDiarmid at StadiumRed, Ornette Coleman’s former studio, in Harlem NYC.

KURT ROSENWINKEL

Kurt Rosenwinkel needs no introduction in jazz circles, a defining master, trailblazer, and preeminent international jazz guitarist/composer with a career spanning almost twenty-five years, who has recently released his latest album as a leader, Star of Jupiter. Kurt’s bio and discography is expansive with 10 albums as a leader including 2003’s Heartcore co-produced by Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, and 2009’s Standards Trio – Reflections, both on Verve. He’s collaborated with dynamic peers like Brad Mehldau, Brian Blade, Mark Turner, Joshua Redman, Chris Potter, Human Feel; and esteemed jazz elders like Joe Henderson, John Scofield, Paul Motian, Pharaoh Sanders, and Gary Burton. Rosenwinkel’s indelible mark in music is the consummation of being steeped in the rich and deep traditions of jazz, springing off of the shoulders of such vital underpinnings to elevate his own art to new heights. In 2013, he was invited and honored by Eric Clapton to play the Crossroads Guitar Festival at Madison Square Garden. TIM MOTZER

After 17 years of world touring, stunning collaborations, and over 70 albums of credits this innovative Philadelphia-based guitarist continues to traverse manifold territories in music and has developed a distinct textural guitar voice utilizing looping, bowing, electronics, and prepared techniques. He has been recognized by Prepared Guitar (Madrid, Spain) in their list of the top 100 modern guitarists worldwide. He has collaborated with musical luminaries: David Sylvian (Nine Horses), Burnt Friedman, Jaki Liebezeit (CAN), Ursula Rucker, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter and King Britt among many others. As a leader, his projects include Orion Tango, Goldbug, Instant Takemitsu, and Tim Motzer SOLO. He releases his genre-defying solo work and collaborations on his 1k Recordings imprint. GINTAS JANUSONIS

Gintas Janusonis is a NYC based, Grammy nominated, internationally acclaimed drummer, composer, and producer who has worked with a diverse range of world class artists, groups, and producers during a 20-plus year career, including Angelique Kidjo, Branford Marsalis, Lee Scratch Perry, RZA, Wu-Tang Clan, Bill Laswell, David Murray, James Spaulding, Melvin Rhyne, Joe Blaney, Otis Clay, The Revelations, Ursula Rucker, Bilal and many more. His wide range of musical styles, groupings, and concepts are a reflection of the depth and breadth of his musical vocabulary and conception. His voice as a drummer and percussionist has been deeply informed by his work as a producer, composer, and recording engineer.
